With interstate and cross border trade being key focus areas for Africa’s growth path, the manner of dealing with disputes, effectively, will always be question that needs answering.
Arbitration and other forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) that to a large degree operate outside of the formal state court system, are considered to be important dispute resolution mechanisms that go hand in glove with increased transactional activty; and they can be seen to be growing across the the continent of Africa and Tanzania is playng it’s part. It is important that we take a crtical look at what this all means and to what extent are we as Global Africans doing to influence the actual forms that these mechanisms take.
