AkiliDada Summit

The Wasichana Wa Afrika (WWA) Summit

The Wasichana Wa Afrika (WWA) Summit is a girl’s convention, where girls share conversations and lived experiences. The summit convenes girls from across African countries to exchange learnings while engaging mentors to facilitate ideas, innovations, and shared knowledge. The 4th Wasichana Wa Afrika (WWA) Summit will be happening from Wednesday, 8th December 2021 to Friday, 10th December from 11:30am EAT to 4:30pm EAT daily.

How do we ensure girls’ voices are heard, espoused, and entrenched?

Akili Dada recognizes that girls are the experts in their own lives, and lived experiences are never up for debate! We focus on creating environments where girls feel free to express themselves, voice their opinions, share experiences, all while learning and acquiring knowledge that will serve them in their present and future.

We advocate for communities around girls to make sure that they create enabling environments in which girls can acquire knowledge and skills to thrive within their set contexts and beyond. We believe that girls must be on the decision-making tables. Putting girls first, boosting their confidence, and providing a space where their voices are heard and appreciated is important.

The theme for this year’s summit is:

VOICE

Galvanizing the power of exercising voice and action through collaborative networks and integration of mental health & well-being practices to optimize resilient leadership.
