frantz fanon and his book the wretched of the earth

Hut Discussion Series (Part 3): Frantz Fanon’s “Wretched of the Earth”

This Saturday from 10a.m. EAT our discussions centre on Chapter 2, “Grandeur and Weakness of Spontaneity”, of Fanon’s Wretched of the Earth.

Key issues: The tensions between the political elite/political parties and the masses in the quest for nationalism or nation-building in Africa with some illustrations from Algeria, Angola, DRC and Kenya.

Although the tensions are analysed historically, the discussion will unearth the recent reverberations of such conflicts.

Session Chair: Sidney Tambasi (@shivji on the HiA Network)

The Hut is a decolonial community that tries to understand Africans globally by historicizing their material condition. We therefore walk into the Hut to discuss issues affecting Global Africa and African peoples from the perspective of African authors, artists, or political personalities.
