The Global African Diaspora Forum
Bandung Africa is an international non-governmental organisation operating from the continent with offices in Kenya and Nigeria. We aim to foster Pan-African solutions to global issues by connecting Africans on the continent and in the diaspora, enabling the exchange of talent, research and expertise between the two communities,
Aim of the Conference
The conference aims to bolster civil society initiatives in the region by incorporating the voices of human rights and climate change activists, and genuine conservationists from both the continent and the African diaspora. They seek to create a strategic bridge to facilitate the exchange of talent, academic materials, research, and expertise, aligning the continent’s needs with diaspora resources.
A critical goal is ensuring the $100 billion per year pledged at COP28 for combating climate change in developing countries is actualized. Additionally, they advocate for leveraging a significant portion of the $3.43 billion in remittances sent by the Kenya diaspora and East African communities worldwide to support climate change mitigation, conservation efforts, and sustainable development projects. By doing so, they aim to build viable local communities and promote environmental sustainability.
