Rodney’s “How Europe Underdeveloped Africa” turns 50
THE HUT cordially invites you to a reflective yet celebratory discussion on the scholarly-revolutionary, Walter Rodney.
Before the age of thirty, Rodney shook the world with his masterpiece, How Europe Underdeveloped Africa.
First-published in 1972, the book still reads cogently 50 years later and shows how resilient Neocolonialism, especially its persisting economic edifices, has proved to be fundamentally untouched in today’s Africa.
THE HUT encourages all participants to review the Introduction (version by Vincent Harding) and Chapter 1 of the book prior to the discussion.
